RBT PDUs
We’re excited to share that we’re resuming our RBT PDUs as we prepare for the 2026 RBT recertification requirements, along with some exciting new supports we’re rolling out for you.
What’s Staying the Same (for Now)
If your RBT certification is up for renewal this year, your recertification will still require a Competency Assessment, just as it has in the past.
If your certification is approaching its expiration date and you have questions about your specific timeline, please contact us at academy@bkbehavior.com so we can guide you appropriately.
What’s Changing After Your Last Competency Assessment
After this final competency-based renewal, the process will change:
- RBTs will be required to complete 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs) within a two-year certification cycle in order to renew.
- These PDUs will replace the annual competency assessment moving forward.
What Is a PDU?
A Professional Development Unit (PDU) is a learning experience designed to help you grow your skills, strengthen your clinical practice, and stay current in the field. PDUs may include live trainings, workshops, or educational sessions focused on practical, applicable topics relevant to your work as an RBT.
The Best Part: PDUs at No Cost
We’re excited to share that we’ll be offering PDUs at no cost to you through BK Academy.
- We’ll host a live monthly PDU session covering a variety of clinical and professional topics.
- In addition to live monthly sessions, we’ll also offer asynchronous PDUs, giving you the flexibility to complete them on your own schedule. (Coming Soon)
- You can attend sessions that align with your interests and goals.
- Please keep in mind that this session is not a paid opportunity.
As always, thank you for the incredible work you do every day. We’re looking forward to supporting your continued growth in this next chapter.
